TradeWaltz Inc. (Head Office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Takahiro Sato; hereinafter “TradeWaltz”) announced today that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with NTT DATA Business Solutions AG, which operates “Conexos Cloud”, a platform that enables the digitalization and centralized management of trade procedures in Brazil. (hereinafter referred to as “NTT DATA Business Solutions”). With this MoU, the two companies will begin to study the feasibility of expanding a trade platform in Brazil, where the largest number of Japanese companies are operating in South America, and to cooperate in the creation of use cases.

This was taken up as a MoU on cooperation between Japanese and Brazilian companies during the Japan-Brazil Economic Forum held on March 26 in Tokyo on the occasion of the President of Brazil, Lula’s visit to Japan as a state guest, and a commemorative photo was taken with the leaders of Japan and Brazil.

TradeWaltz and NTT DATA Business Solutions Begin Cooperation on Trade Platform Deployment Feasibility Study
Traditional paper-based trade procedures have become a source of increased costs and operational burdens, and the use of trade platforms is being considered both domestically and internationally as a means of resolving this issue. As part of this process, the trade platform will provide visibility to information, improve data transparency, and facilitate a higher level of risk management and supply chain optimization.

TradeWaltz and NTT DATA Business Solutions will conduct a feasibility study on the deployment of trade platforms in the Brazilian market with the aim of digitizing trade between Japan and Brazil. In the course of the study, we hold interviews to government agencies and Japanese and Brazilian companies, which are stakeholders in trade, about their status and issues in current trade procedures and their expectations for the trade platform and will be considered for the actual implementation of the platform.

If the commercialization is confirmed through research, the two companies plan to integrate their platforms. We believe that the collaboration between the two platforms will not only contribute to the digitalization of trade procedures and the strengthening of the supply chain between Japan and Brazil, but also promote trade between the two countries and expand the market, leading to the development of new trade routes and the creation of business opportunities.
