TradeWaltz Embarks on Digitalizing Grain and Oilseed Import Processes— Launch of Cross-Company “TGI Working Group” —

TradeWaltz Inc. (hereinafter referred to as “TradeWaltz”) is pleased to announce the official launch of a new product, TradeWaltz for Grain Importers (“TGI”), which aims to standardize and streamline the import processes for grains and oilseeds. The company also launched a cross-company TGI Working Group (“TGI WG”) in March 2025, comprising participating trading companies.

This initiative aims to improve visibility and operational efficiency across Japan’s grain and oilseed supply chain—an essential component of national food security—through digital technologies.

Development of TGI began in October 2024, and work is currently underway on a core-feature prototype. The TGI WG includes seven trading firms, such as Sojitz Corporation, Toyota Tsusho Corporation, Marubeni Corporation, Mitsui & Co., Ltd., and Mitsubishi Corporation, who are actively involved in identifying on-the-ground needs and discussing potential industry-wide standardization practices alongside the ongoing development.

The in-development TGI platform will offer features such as real-time sharing of cargo handling status between trading firms and silos, as well as centralized management of customs documents, with a v1.0 release planned for January 2026. By adopting TGI, the time spent coordinating information between trading firms and silos can be reduced, enabling more efficient planning of shipping operations. Ultimately, the platform aims to reduce logistics costs and drive operational transformation across the industry.

The efforts of TGI and the TGI WG align with the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry’s national goal to digitize 10% of trade transactions by fiscal year 2028. TradeWaltz will continue expanding its participating members and broadening its reach through enhanced functionality.
