Tradewalz and Abeam Consulting Start Collaboration for Digitalization of the Trade Field To Promote DX for the Entire Trade Industry

Tradewalz and Abeam Consulting Start Collaboration for Digitalization of the Trade Field To Promote DX for the Entire Trade Industry

Tradewaltz Inc.
ABeam Consulting Ltd.

Tradewaltz Inc. (President & CEO: Hirohisa Kojima, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; hereinafter “TradeWalz”) and ABeam Consulting Ltd. (CEO: Tatsuya Kamoi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; hereinafter “ABeam Consulting”) start collaborating on promoting digitalization in trade, with a particular focus on trading, manufacturing, and logistics companies as of April 1.

This collaboration will provide comprehensive support services from the formulation of a roadmap for the digitization of trading operations and business reform to the selection, implementation, and operation of optimal digital technologies.

Through the use of Tradewaltz*, a proven method of digitising communications across various companies  in the trade industry provided by Tradewaltz, ABeam Consulting will leverage its expertise in trade operations in all sectors associated with the trade industry, including trading, manufacturing, and logistics, and provides services from the perspective of optimizing the entire supply chain of trade operations.

We will apply TradeWaltz’s product capabilities and ABeam Consulting’s expertise in trade operations and knowledge of corporate transformation to promote the digitization of trade operations and improve the efficiency and security of paper-based processes.

As an example, when a single change in input data occurs in trade operations, several companies involved in the trade operations have to manually correct each data. However, with the digitalization of trade operations, when changes occur in input data, the corrected data can be immediately linked among the companies. Freeing the companies from traditional manual work will contribute to preventing operational errors and improving operational efficiency.

By promoting the digitization of trade operations in this way, we aim to promote the sharing of data not only within a company but also between companies in real-time, thereby contributing to the formation of a trade ecosystem, the transformation of business models of companies involved in trade, and the DX (Digital Transformation) of the entire trade industry.

■ Background of Collaboration

In trade operations around the world, while the systemization of individual companies and business categories is progressing, each company and business category remains independent. Therefore, information collaboration across companies and categories is often done manually, mainly via written communication such as emails and faxes. The situation illustrates the importance of improving efficiencies across the entire supply chain involved in trade. The DX of trade operations also faces challenges due to the number of players involved, like shippers, shipping companies, logistics companies, and customs, the complexity of the system, and the need to ensure trust through security measures. Additionally, companies are required to comply with the revised Electronic Books Preservation Act  for the digitization of trade documents (to establish a scheme that meets the requirements). The process of dealing with these issues on an individual basis is extremely time-consuming and inefficient for individual companies. As a result, ABeam Consulting, which has contributed to TradeWaltz’s goal of addressing the issues of all players involved in trade in a centralized and integrated manner, has decided to collaborate with TradeWaltz to promote digitalization of the trade field further.
