TradeWaltz Inc (President and CEO: Hirohisa Kojima), operator of TradeWaltz, a trade information collaboration platform (hereinafter referred to as “Trade PF”), is pleased to announce that it has received the Outstanding Project Award and the PMI Asia Pacific Award at the PM Award 2022, which recognizes great projects in Japan.

■About PM Award
The PM Award is an award program organized by the PMI Japan Chapter, a project management awareness and promotion organization in Japan, in cooperation with PMI Global, to recognize outstanding projects by Japanese companies and organizations that lead to the creation of the future. In 2021, the first year of the competition, NTT Data Corporation’s “Social Contribution Project to Support Access to Tuberculosis Diagnosis for 100,000 People in India through AI Diagnostic Imaging Technology” won the Best Project Award. The PM Award 2022 is a strictly contested award.
In the PM Award 2022, the following six projects, including our “Project for Facilitating Trade Procedures through Collaboration with Overseas Trade Platforms” were selected as finalists after a rigorous document review process, and gave 30-minute presentations each at an online seminar. Based on this, each awarded project was further selected by approximately 1,000 public votes based on four criteria: “novelty,” “usefulness,” “organizational impact,” and “contribution to the issue.

Representatives of the eight projects (six finalists and two honorable mentions) were invited to an awards ceremony held on October 22 at Comore Yotsuya Tower, which was attended by Tsuyoshi Nodasaka, PM of TradeWaltz Inc. As a result, TradeWaltz was awarded the PMI Asia Pacific Award, a special prize, in addition to the Outstanding Project Award, which is given to the finalists. The judges, SoHyun Kang (PMI Asia Pacific), gave high praise to TradeWaltz for “a tough project that required crossing national and language barriers, and for completing it in a short period of time despite the fact that it involved the integration of advanced technology systems such as blockchain”.

■Comments from stakeholders
Tsuyoshi Nodasaka, General Manager, Product Development Department, TradeWaltz Inc
‘We are very honored to receive the Outstanding Project Award and the PMI Asia Pacific Award out of so many projects. We would also like to express my sincere gratitude to our business partners and employees in Japan and overseas who supported the project. We feel that the project’s success was due to the fact that all parties involved in the project shared and shared the project’s objectives and significance. We believe that this project will contribute to the future trade and economic development of the Asia-Pacific region.

Chie Ando, Consultant (in charge of Singapore and Thailand), Product Development Department, TradeWaltz Inc
‘I had experienced many projects at my former company, but this was the first time for me to experience management using English in a cross-country project, and it was a great learning experience. This time, the Thai side had to proceed with development before the API was released to the public, so I had not only created the specifications, but also took the stance of developing the API together with the Thai side by tapping the API myself. As a result, I was able to promote the Project consistently from coordination of collaboration specifications, development, testing, and PoC, which gave me a lot of confidence.

Asami Beppu, Product Manager (Australia and New Zealand), TradeWaltz Inc
‘We are very honored to receive the PM Award for Project Excellence and the PMI Asia Pacific Award. I have experienced a lot of project management in my previous jobs, but projects with overseas platforms with different cultural backgrounds require a lot of detailed adjustments and strict task and deadline management, and I feel that it is most important to accomplish each task without fail. We will continue to promote the project for further global expansion of TradeWaltz.’
