TradeWaltz Inc. (Hirohisa Kojima, President & CEO), which operates the trading-related information-sharing platform known as “TradeWaltz,” took the stage for a presentation at an event on February 2nd hosted by the International Chamber of Commerce Japan. ■ICC Outline and TradeWaltz Inc’s Involvement
The International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) is an organisation that develops international rules and regulations for the fair conduct of global commerce, trade, and investment activities by private companies around the world, and advocates on various issues surrounding the global economy (e.g., environmental and social issues). In 2016, it became the first private world business organisation to be admitted as an observer to the United Nations General Assembly.
In June 2021, TradeWaltz Inc. joined ICC Japan, and has been working with the ICC DSI (*1), which is promoting the creation of new digital trade rules, URDTT (*2), to confirm the draft of URDTT in Japan.

【Comments from People Involved】
ICC JAPAN, Executive Director, Kazuhito Sasaki
The ICC has been engaged in various activities to promote global trade and services, and this year we would like to accelerate our efforts to make trade more electronic and efficient. This was a valuable opportunity to introduce to a wide range of Japanese industries the business activities of TradeWaltz Inc., which stems from all sectors across all Japan. The Japan Committee will continue to promote the active participation of Japanese companies in the creation of international rules.
ICC united kingdom, Secretary General: Chris Southworth
“We’re delighted to have Satoru Someya, Managing Director, TradeWaltz speak at the ICC United Kingdom’s Digital Trade Conference on 6-8 April. This event comes at a critical moment as we prepare the ground for the international trading ecosystem to become fully digitalised and interoperable. This event will bring together experts from industry, government and international standards bodies and take a sectoral approach to showcase best practice and understand the bottlenecks and solutions to mass adoption of open, interoperable systems.”
TradeWaltz Inc., President & CEO, Hirohisa Kojima
I would like to express my sincere appreciation for the opportunity to speak to ICC Japan. The complete digitalisation of trade doesn’t stop with Japan, but when the country of the other party becomes digitalised, as well. That is why I hope we can continue to work closely with international organisations such as the ICC. I will be attending the conference in the UK in April, so I hope to see you there as well.
