TradeWaltz Inc. (headquarters: Chiyoda, Tokyo / President & CEO, Hirohisa Kojima), a joint venture of seven large Japanese corporations (*1) including NTT Data and Mitsubishi Corporation, is recruiting seven positions for side jobs or dual employment partners to join its trade digitalization business. The recruitment is being held on BizReach, a job search site that connects skilled workers and companies, which is operated by BizReach Inc. (headquarters: Shibuya, Tokyo / President: Yosuke Tada) of the Visional Group.

*1) Seven corporations: NTT DATA Corporation, Mitsubishi Corporation, Toyota Tsusho Corporation, Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance Co. Ltd., MUFG Bank, Ltd., Kanematsu Corporation, and Sompo Japan Insurance Inc.

TradeWaltz, the trading-related information-sharing platform, aims to digitalize trade

 Japan’s trading business has been a “paper culture” for 150 years. This has exposed the risk of delays in operations and stoppages in imports and exports if paper cannot be processed due to the inability to come to work such as under COVID-19 conditions. In order to strengthen Japan’s supply chain in the future, it is essential to fully digitalize trade operations in Japan and Asia. However, the number of players involved in the digital transformation of trade, including shippers, shipping companies, logistics companies, and customs, as well as the complexity of the system and the need to ensure trust through security measures, are issues that need to be addressed.

 TradeWaltz inc., through the operation of “TradeWaltz,” a trading-related information-sharing platform that utilizes blockchain technology information, will enable the sharing of original trade document data in a unified, cross-country manner. Since its predecessor, the Trade Consortium, TradeWaltz Inc. has been accumulating various demonstration experiments over the past four years, and in November 2020, a memorandum of understanding (MOU) was signed for collaboration with NACCS, an import/export and port-related information processing system. In March 2021, we will start full-scale operation of the service between Japan and Vietnam, and in October, we plan to start data collaboration with the TOSS series, an international logistics system with the largest market share in Japan. ■ To promote digital trade transformation in Japan and Asia, core members are being recruited for side jobs and dual employment

 The core members of TradeWaltz Inc. currently consist of only a dozen or so people who have been transferred from investing companies. However, in order to take on the trade digitalization challenge of the global stage, including Japanese and overseas governments, it is effective to recruit business professionals with a wealth of experience and skills, not only from within the company but from all over Japan.
