Deloitte Tohmatsu Tax Co. and TradeWaltz Inc. expand the scope of collaboration and develop services that combine trade process improvement and digitalization

 Deloitte Tohmatsu Group’s Deloitte Tohmatsu Tax Co. (hereinafter Deloitte Tohmatsu) and TradeWaltz Inc. (hereinafter: TradeWaltz), which operates the trade information linkage platform “TradeWaltz”, will expand the scope of collaboration from digitalization of trade-related books and documents to consulting services related to facilitation, optimization, and reconstruction of the entire trade process toward the full digitalization of trade operations.

 The movement is accelerating further toward trading process digitalization by public and government sectors jointly since Deloitte Tohmatsu and TradeWaltz started collaboration related to electronic bookkeeping consulting services in May last year: MLIT has been working to increase the number of users of Cyber Port and has selected the post-customs survey destinations utilizing AI and promoting the government-sector activities such as post-investigation remotely. Also, the launch of an international trade platform and cooperation between NACCS, Cyber Port, and TradeWaltz have been advanced.　

 Under these circumstances, the number of companies that want to take the opportunity of digitizing trade-related books and documents, not only to digitalize trade documents but also to take inventory/review trade practices as a whole and consider/implement IT has been increasing. On the other hand, there are also concerns and confusion from companies about which will be the mainstream of private platforms in the future, what will happen to the cooperation with government systems such as Cyber Port and NACCS, what will happen to customs operations and post-customs investigation handling related to electronic storage, and how the company’s trading operations will change before and after the introduction of the system.

　Deloitte Tohmatsu and TradeWaltz will continue to work to resolve the issues and concerns of these companies. With this expansion of the collaboration, Deloitte Tohmatsu will introduce “TradeWaltz” as one of the candidate tools to realize this in the consulting service for streamlining and optimizing the trade process provided by Deloitte Tohmatsu, and TradeWaltz introduces Deloitte Tohmatsu as a consulting service provider to companies considering the introduction of “TradeWaltz”, which are to promote the improvement and digitalization of trade processes of companies through mutual cooperation.

　In addition, from July, the cloud-based HS code search engine “Trade Search”served by Deloitte Tohmatsu will be provided on the linked App Store of“TradeWaltz“.

　Deloitte Tohmatsu and TradeWaltz will continue to make further efforts toward the full digitalization of trade operations.
