TradeWaltz Inc. participated in the 40th AFACT (UN /CEFACT Asian Organization) Mid-term Meeting as a speaker
Japan is the FY2022 (40th) host country of (Asia Council for Trade Facilitation and Electronic Business：AFACT), which is the Asia organization of UN/ CEFACT.
The mid-term meeting (Jul.) and the general meeting (Nov.) have been planned during FY2022, where we will gather opinions in Asia and make proposals to UN/CEFACT.
NDTP, a Thai trading platform, was also a participant in the afternoon session of AFACT Mid-term Meeting held on July 28 in addition to TradeWaltz Inc.
In the process of adjusting the items required in the field of trade in the Japan-Thailand trade platform connection project that is currently underway, we are getting a grasp of “data items that are lacking in the current UN/CEFACT” in order to conduct field operations. If we can propose and add the missing items to the UN/CEFACT common dictionary, we will be able to develop world standard trade data items from Asia.
A concrete example is FOB Value.
Currently, the UN/CEFACT guidelines are written for each type of documents, such as invoices and packing lists, but given that many fields are common among these documents, we consider that it may be useful/effective/easy to use one reference for each field in the various documents (TradeWaltz-style structured data concept). Alternatively, we consider that it would be useful to link/identify the status in which the same field is shared between various documents.
The adverse effects of the description by document type are specifically expressed in the “FOB Value” and such. “FOB Value” is not shown in the invoice format but can be found in the packing list. This is a common item used in invoices, and the reality is that the item guided in the packing list is adjusted in fields to be used in invoices.
