Press Release / Important Information
TradeWaltz Inc., which operates the trading-related information-sharing platform known as “TradeWaltz,” is pleased to announce that the number of member companies of the “Consortium for Efficiency and Widespread Trade Information Linkage ” (commonly known as the Trade Consortium), which TradeWaltz Inc. operates as the secretariat, reached a total of 100 companies as of February 28, 2022.
■ A wide range of businesses have joined, bringing the total number of member companies to 100
The Trade Consortium originated on August 30, 2017. With the aim of realizing the digitalization of trade operations through blockchain technology, the then secretariat NTT Data launched it together with 13 trade operation practitioners which then expanded to 18 companies. The identification of issues related to trade digitalization and the development of the trading-related information-sharing platform “TradeWaltz” through demonstration experiments resulted in the development of the Trade Consortium.
In April 2021, TradeWaltz Inc. became the new secretariat which resulted in the new Trade Consortium with an aim of promoting the standardization of trade digitalization. Since May 21, 2021, when we announced the launch with 40 companies, 60 additional companies from various business categories including trading companies, manufacturers, banks, insurance companies, logistics companies, shipping companies, IT vendors, public institutions, think tanks, and consulting firms have joined us, bringing the total number of participating companies to 100 as of February 28.
